“ Hoi, CME vrienden!!! Mijn naam is Jae and ik kom uit Zuid korea.”

Again, hi, CME friends. My name is Jae Hyuk Park, just call me “J”. I come from South Korea. In July, 2010, I got my MSc degree from TUD and, of course, my major is Construction Management end Engineering(CME). The title of my MSc thesis is “Towards an Industrialized Project Delivery System for the Building & Construction Industry: Supported by an integration of two enabling technologies, Systems Engineering and Building Information Modeling”.

“Ik ben BIM adviseur van Ballast Nedam.”

Currently, as a BIM consultant, I work for Ballast Nedam which is the Dutch construction-related construction group. I am involved in 5Diitiative project, the aim of which is to develop the new ICT platform by cooperating with other contractors, SW vendors and R&D group. Also, I am participating in the BIM-integrated system development for ModuPark, which provides the customers with the modular parking garage.

Although I am sure that I had leant a lot about these topics by attending the relevant courses and doing MSc project during my CME MSc program, it is true that I am still confronting the new challenges in the more practical and operational level, rather than in the theoretical level. But, my academic background as a CMEer gives me the better understanding of the whole processes in the construction project. As my operational experiences and practical knowledge are accumulated, I do believe that this strength would reinforce me more and more.
