On Tuesday November 23th, Witteveen+Bos organized a company case. This day was different from other company cases because it was a battle between the three CME directions (Eindhoven, Twente and Delft) and TBM.

The day started at 09.00 in the main office of Witteveen+Bos in Deventer. The four study associations had to form a group of six students who represented the university. The representatives of the CME Dispuut were, Manon Harmsen, Cyriel Hodiamont, Koen Janssen, Jeroen Hofstra, Valentijn de Jong en Matthijs Kluis.

Before the case was introduced, a presentation on Witteveen+Bos was given and the teams had the opportunity to meet each other.

The case of that day was to formulate and make a bid for a OTB concerning a new road near Badhoevedorp. We had to formulate our plan and the activities we thought were needed to realize the new track. After a day of hard working, every team had to present their plan. After the four presentation, the jury went into discussion in order to announce the winners of the case.

After some general feedback, the jury announced that CME Delft were the winners. One of the positive feedbacks we got is the fact that we had a combination of technical aspects and managerial aspects. For us as CME students that is a really positive feedback because that is exactly the idea behind the new master Construction Management and Engineering. Having a good basis of Civil Engineering due to the Bachelor Civil Engineering and combining that with Managerial aspects due to the Master CME.

To finish the day in a good way, all the teams and several employees of Witteveen+Bos went for a diner in the centre of Deventer. At 21.30, the Delft students thought it was a good moment to leave due to a return trip of more than two hours.
